Peter S. Paine Jr., served as Champlain National Bank Chairman for 40 years, following his father and grandfather. He had a distinguished law career, practicing in New York, London, and Paris and earned degrees from Princeton, Oxford, and Harvard Law School. He is a committed conservationist, notably from his involvement in creating the Adirondack Park Agency. He has served on the Boards of the Adirondack Land Trust, Fort Ticonderoga, Adirondack Nature Conservancy, and the Adirondack Foundation. He is an Honorary Fellow of Christ Church, his Oxford College, and was awarded a Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite from France.
